As a recognized leader in the specification, design, development, validation and production launch of advanced vehicle and powertrain systems, IAV Automotive Engineering deploys a leading team of technical experts, engineering tools and program processes from its North American Headquarters in Northville, Michigan.

IAV is seeking a driven student looking to provide value to an organization and develop their professional skillsets in our Project Management Office (PMO) - Student Support role. This role is a one-year assignment at our Northville, MI location. The position will be Hybrid work model with in-house work at our Northville location and remote days.

As a Student Intern in our Project Management Office, you will play an important role by providing support to the team, particularly in the areas of internal reporting, task tracking, and helping set up and operate a Confluence-based Knowledge Management System. You'll be working closely with the local Governance Manager, assisting in the management and upkeep of corporate processes.

The responsibilities for the position are as follows:

  • Assist in preparing internal reports for project management office.
  • Track project tasks to ensure timely completion and report any potential delays.
  • Help establish a Confluence-based Knowledge Management System to streamline access to and organization of vital information.
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the knowledge management system.
  • Collaborate with the local Governance Manager to enhance the corporate processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include attending meetings and taking minutes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with focus in engineering or related degree program.
  • Strong interest in automotive industry and project management.
  • Familiarity with Confluence or similar knowledge management software is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite skills; intermediate to advance Excel skills
  • Communicative personality and team player
