Shipping Coordinator

Michigan Spring and Stamping, a global technology leader in the production of highly complex strip and wire springs, is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to join their team. As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient shipment of materials, both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all aspects of shipping, including scheduling shipments, preparing shipping documentation, and arranging for transportation.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to customers.
• Inspect items for shipment to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and prioritize shipments based on customer demands.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and update inventory systems.
• Communicate with customers and carriers to provide status updates and address any issues or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and laws.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• Previous experience in shipping coordination or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of domestic regulations and requirements. International is a plus.
• Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
