Canopy is a company with a unique mission, solving the large and growing problem of theft from vehicles. With our patented cutting-edge AI technologies, we are determined to provide peace of mind to the millions with items in their vehicles that are vulnerable to theft. 

As a Service Designer, you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other departments to create a coherent end-to-end customer experience for our digital and physical products. 

Your creativity, attention to detail, and understanding of human-centred design principles will contribute to the success of the overall service experience. To be successful in this role, you’d be a strong communicator zooming in and out of the situation, and take the initiative to articulate the challenges and opportunities to those who enjoy working with people at various organizations to facilitate change.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing current and future-state journeys, service blueprints, and other artifacts that communicate how the end-to-end customer experience can be delivered in the market
  • Facilitating the collective understanding of the end-to-end, front-to-back experience by mapping the orchestration of events across tech, business, and design
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals, requirements, and customer needs
  • Help product managers assess and prioritise opportunities and constraints
  • Demonstrating how behind-the-scenes processes and interactions with each other parties 
  • Aligning the service experience with the overall business strategy

Location: Only considering candidates that are East of Chicago and can work in the ET zone. Ideally we would prefer candidates located in Metro Detroit area.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of service design principles and methods.
  • A great communicator and storyteller for breaking down complex problems into structured visual artifacts.
  • Ability to create service design artifacts and outputs, such as current and future-state user journeys, service blueprints and other artifacts.
  • Coordinating and facilitating workshops and following up by synthesizing the output of the workshops.
  • Contributing to the research activities, and supporting the research efforts when needed.
  • Demonstrating confidence when using Miro, Figma, and Google Suite.

It would be ideal if you also have:

  • 3+ years experience as a Service Designer or similar design role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Service Design or a related field. Relevant design certifications or coursework are a plus.
  • Experience working within an Agile team (working across Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Customer Care, and Business Operations) and shipping impactful products at scale.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate problems, solutions, and journeys.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Hourly Rate Range: $40 - $50 per hour
