Simpay is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Risk team. This role is responsible for managing appropriate investigative efforts to help detect known fraud and risk trends while educating our clients on best practices for card acceptance Our ideal candidate has a merchant services background and experience working with Fiserv/First Data and related systems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Monthly Collection Tracking and recoup losses experienced by the portfolio.
Process UCC Liens, levies and tax notices
Process and respond to all compliance notifications
Collaborate daily with Risk Analyst on completion of all risk duties
Provide analytical risk assessments on merchant portfolio decisions.
Actively engage in client outreach providing education card acceptance best practices.
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
Speak directly to clients to discuss risk restrictions and account decisions.
Resolve and deescalate customer inquiries in Merchant Awareness department.
Validate any unusual transactions via invoice request and other investigative strategies.
Perform re-underwrites for accounts with increased financial exposure.
Analyze a wide variety of business types across multiple credit card acceptance channels and risk variances.
Monitor client deposits and ensure processing activity is following approved limits.
Make real-time funding decisions documenting decision-making process via CRM ticket system.
Timely placement of flagged accounts on reserve to mitigate losses.
Monitor suspicious merchant activity and mitigate fraudulent behavior.
Provide analytical feedback for underwriting, customer support and sales departments.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience working within a merchant awareness/risk investigator role.
Merchant services background and current Fiserv (First Data) experience required.
Expanded knowledge of rules and regulations for the Card Schemes.
Escalation Resource for Merchant Awareness Team
Previous experience assisting clients with chargebacks acting in a client supporting role.
Client communication expertise including handling escalated inquiries on due diligence investigations.
Understanding of the workflow and on-boarding process for new merchants.
Hands-on experience reviewing and analyzing individual and company financial data and processing statements.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be tactical and able to perform in a high stress environment.

REQUIRED DECISION MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT
This position requires the employee to be autonomous in managing his/her daily activities.
Decisions that are outside the scope of work as addressed within the position description are to be elevated to the Department Head.
