Full Job Description

New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Location: Southfield

Schedule: Full time; Shift-based schedule as determined by Crisis Services Director. Three, 12.5-hour shifts each week, as determined by Crisis Director. Available shifts include 7PM - 7:30AM *Please note that initial new hire training will be conducted during daytime hours at the assigned training location, consisting of five 8.5-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. Completion of this training is required before beginning non-traditional shifts.

Reports To: Crisis Services Director / Crisis Services Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly Employee; $17-$18/hour. Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: The Intensive Crisis Stabilization Technician is a full time position comprised of multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities related to the Crisis Services Program.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Provides Intensive Crisis Stabilization services to consumers, as scheduled, in accordance with professional standards and the policies/procedures of the facility.
  • Assists Intensive Crisis Stabilization Therapists with crisis deployments external to New Oakland in Wayne, Macomb and Oakland Counties.
  • Possesses the ability to resolve all crisis situations appropriately.
  • Communicates daily with FACE to FACE Crisis Stabilization clinical and administrative staff regarding clinical and administrative issues/activities.
  • Completes documentation as required by the clinic’s policies/procedures.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Fulfills all initial and ongoing training requirements.
  • Actively participates as a positive member of the clinic environment.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Staff needs to be prepared to be actively involved with clients an on occasion may need to use approved CPI techniques or pursue eloping clients. Staff needs to be flexible, as they may be asked to assist with coverage at another site due to census population, absences, etc.

Requirements

Bachelor/Pre-bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling is preferred. Must be able to work well with all types of people and all populations including children, adolescents, and adults. Approved driving record is required.
