Maintenance Technician

Summary

Will perform machine maintenance duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
• Locates sources of problems through logical troubleshooting of various types of systems and machines.
• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Trains production workers on routine preventative maintenance.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Critical Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and perform repairs.
• Must be knowledgeable and remain current with shop machine manuals, processes, regulations and guidelines.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently.
• Must be able to communicate with individuals in all levels of the company.
• Must have a thorough understanding of general and maintenance safe work practices such as LOTO, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, PPE, etc.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have at least 5 years of related Maintenance experience

Physical Demand and Work Environment

The position requires standing, lifting of up to 50 pounds frequently, climbing steps and ladders, working at heights in a scissor lift and working in a production environment. Conditions include high noise levels in some areas, temperature variations and some odors.
