Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Shift: 1st 6:30am – 3:00pm

Monday-Friday; Overtime on some Saturdays depending on production needs.

Pay Rate: $19-22/Hour

Summary: A Manufacturing Machine Operator is required to safely meet quality and production expectations by utilizing training, various industrial woodworking machines, materials, work orders, kan ban system and established processes.

Safety Expectations:

• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures

• Utilizes Lock Out Tag Out at all appropriate times

• Always secure material loads utilizing load locks, straps, mechanical apparatuses

• Avoid pinch points and rotating equipment motions

• Keep floor clean and free from slip or trip hazards

• Attentive to details

Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

• Must always confirm all produced product meets work order or blueprint

• Double check all work with peers throughout shift

• Run machine effectively to produce quality parts according to work instructions

• Able to demonstrate basic math skills • Able to accurately read product prints

• Strong attention to detail throughout daily execution of customer orders

• Maintain clean contact surfaces throughout process to prevent material damage Housekeeping

Expectations:

• Daily end of shift cleanup of all debris, scrap, and sawdust accumulations

• All needed items to support production organized in 5s condition

• Horizontal surfaces free of dirt, dust, trash, unidentified items at all times

• Weekly deep clean of equipment and department

Maintenance Health Expectations:

• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude with fundamental abilities to address adjustments, recognize when conditions require mechanical attention.

• Ability to use mechanical aptitude while safely performing set up and cleaning functions.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts; rotating saw blades; will be exposed to airborne particles (wood dust) and risk of electrical shock

• Demonstrated attendance record

• Experience with reading and applying information found on product prints

• Ability to understand standard and metric units of measure with ability to convert

• Ability to recognize / discern materials

• Able accurately read and use tape measure and calipers

• Able to understand and follow work order

• Follow published daily production schedules

• Ability to flex working hours schedule to meet customer requirements

• Ability to perform in fast paced environment with very minimal stationary time

• Documents actions by accurately completing necessary system data entry

• Solve minor production related problems individually, work with team to solve higher level problems
