Position: Finisher and Polish Hand
Location: Canton, MI
Pay: $25 - $30 per hour

Shift: 2nd shift

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Finisher and Polish Hand. In this role, you'll work closely with a talented team to achieve exceptional results.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate polishing equipment to achieve the desired finish on parts and products.
  • Select and utilize the appropriate wheels, dressings, and abrasives for each job.
  • Apply and manipulate workpieces to polishing wheels, adjusting pressure and duration to maintain proper contour and dimensions.
  • Polish parts to remove defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing.
  • Choose abrasives or pastes based on material, size, shape, and finishing requirements.
  • Inspect and measure product characteristics to ensure they meet part print specifications, both initially and throughout production runs.
  • Identify and mark defects for potential rework.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including preventative tasks, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs as needed.
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintain equipment or parts.
  • Change bench wheels as required.
  • Follow strict safety guidelines when operating power tools and machinery.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work within close tolerances.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Capable of following simple instructions accurately.

Additional Skills:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, dirt, dust, and solvents.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as required by production demands.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 10-20 lbs. from floor to waist.
