Field Application Engineer - E-Mobility

Innovative solutions are becoming more available to allow electric mobility to enter the mass market.  An important part of this is the charging technology.  Vector supports developers of on-board charging ECUs in the vehicle, charging stations and inductive charging systems with extensive test systems, bespoke ECU software and hardware as well as a SaaS load management backend.

Position Description:

We have an immediate need for an experienced Field Application Engineer to liaison Vector’s EV infrastructure products and customer applications.  You will:

• Set up initial commissioning of EV-Charging-Systems together with our customers.
• Develop and implement customer specific solutions for EV-Charging stations.
• Develop and implement communication adapters and scripts to connect components to the charging controller.
• Integrate and deliver technical support for North American customers.
• Organizes and implements technical customer support for the vSECC product group in the medium term.
• Participate in standards organizations such as SAE, CharIN NA, CHAdeMO
• Participate at testing events.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2 to 5+ years of experience in embedded development or testing or support for embedded software applications.  
• Good knowledge of hardware, software embedded systems along with charging communication for CCS and MCS.
• Good programming skills in Linux scripting.
• Experience with ISO15118 EV charging communication protocol preferred.
• Clear and concise, oral and written communication skills with peers, management, and customers.
• Ability to work in a team environment with a sense of urgency to meet and exceed customer expectations.

• Ability to travel to customer sites 30% to 50%.
• Strong project, self-management and organizational skills
• B.S. in EE/SE/CE/CS or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
