The facilities coordinator oversees the day-to-day operation of the building and grounds, with emphasis on warehouse coordination and building equipment. The role requires a blend of technical skills, organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills to ensure the facility operates smoothly and efficiently

Requirements

·         Perform and coordinate with outside vendors for preventive maintenance on HVAC, coolers, and freezers.

·         Coordinate all maintenance of hi-los, company vehicles, cardboard bailor, freezers, and septic system.

·         Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes and maintain ongoing communication to confirm that the correct products, pricing, and services are provided. Manage vendor relationships to ensure high service quality.

·         Coordinate with Thrift Store and Food Programming departments on warehouse organization, deliveries, pick-ups, food distributions, and special events.

·         Own NKC’s waste disposal and recycling program.

·         Conduct and document regular facilities inspections.

·         Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.

·         Perform safety and security training with new staff and bi-annually to all staff.

·         Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures.

·         Provide prompt response to requests and maintenance issues performing simple repairs throughout the building, connecting with outside vendors as needed.

·         Oversee facility services such as security, janitorial, snow removal, landscaping, waste disposal, and parking.

·         Ensure sidewalks and parking lots are safe in the wintertime.

·         Set up meeting areas as needed.

·         Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations.

  • Associates degree plus 5 or more years experience as a handyman or in a skilled trade (ie: plumbing, heating & cooling, construction) or a combination of education & experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience driving a hi-lo with the ability to successfully operate the equipment in a rack storage environment.  Hi-lo certification preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
  • Must be able to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, push, pull, lift above the head, and lift 50 pounds; includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word & Outlook e-mail system.
  • Ability to form and establish positive partnerships in the community.
  • Self-starter and possess a high degree of initiative.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
