Artesian Farm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Distribution Manager to oversee our distribution operations and ensure the seamless movement of our high-quality agricultural products from farm to customer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient distribution strategies, managing logistics and transportation, and working closely with other departments to optimize our supply chain processes. As a leader within our organization, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and quality of our products while ensuring timely delivery to our clients. You will analyze current distribution practices, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Your management of the distribution team will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and training. You will also collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate the best possible terms and service levels. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of distribution operations, including logistics, transportation, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement effective distribution strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage and lead a team of distribution staff, providing training and support to ensure high performance.
- Coordinate with sales and production teams to align distribution with demand and inventory levels.
- Monitor and analyze distribution metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with transportation providers and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all distribution activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in distribution or logistics management, preferably within the agricultural sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize distribution processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
