Full Job Description
Rockford Construction 601 First Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504; Superintendent; supervise the field construction of a project. Focus on achieving the project goals. Serve as the primary liaison with owner, architects, and engineers. Project construction activities and site logistic plans for scheduling purpose. Review all contract documentation. Conduct construction document reviews and examine all documents for constructability and quality control. Assemble a project specific quality control program, and ensure compliance. Verify all trade contractors have fully executed contracts. Maintain a detailed Microsoft Project schedule. Oversee work among all trades. Resolve local area problems. Provide 3-week look-ahead for all owner and trade contractor progress meetings. Monitor actual work to maintain compliance for the work plan. Maintain communication with trade contractors. Make decisions related to the performance of the work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels. Coordinate required meetings with Individual Trade Contractor Pre-Start, Foreman, Building Enclosure, and MEP Coordination. Inspect all construction work. Take daily photographs to document work in place and items to be covered. Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications. Maintain project as-built drawings. Coordinate scheduling of testing consultants and municipal inspections and monitor the accuracy and timeliness of test reporting. Monitor Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. Investigate and submit required Incident Reports. Collect Letters of Compliance. Review for accuracy against project documents and update Submittal Log. Coordinate additional work in the field. Manage the General Conditions and General Requirements to maintain the budget, identify potential risks to achieving project goals and implement mitigation strategies. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and 24 months of experience in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Requires 1-2 years of experience supervising trade contractors, the ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondences, memos, blueprints, and floor plans. MS Outlook, Project Excel, and Word. Local daily travel required. Travel to neighboring states or cities on a project basis
