Full Job Description
We are looking for a Cold Heading Supervisor for our 2nd shift for a leading supplier in the field of high-strength fasteners for mobility and beyond. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Supervises the 2nd shift team of machine operators and team leaders producing precision, cold
· formed fasteners for automotive customers.
· Audits and corrects timekeeping within the Cold Heading department to reduce errors in labor
· cost centers and manages vacation planning.
· Updates the Qualification Matrix as needed to accurately reflect team’s skill level.
· Audits & verifies the skills rated on Qualification Matrix.
· Maintains a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
· Conducts layered audits to ensure quality assurance processes are followed.
· Reports any process and/or equipment problems to the appropriate department.
· Participates in interviews for filling open positions within their department and shift.
· Coaches, mentors, motivates, and provides feedback to team members.
· Performs performance related activities, i.e. employee reviews, rewards & recognition,
· promotions, and disciplinary actions.
· Administers corrective actions with employees in regards to attendance.
· Reviews priority list and allocates labor for smooth operations including scheduling overtime,
· approving vacation, etc. for their shift.
· Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed.
· Distributes status reports to the required distribution list.
· Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and 6S of the area and meeting
· production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
· Completes all paperwork associated with shift.
· Responsible for continuous improvement (OPEX) activities on their shift.
· Ensures all Autonomous Maintenance activities are being carried out.
· Posts production data as needed.
· Leads shift handoff activities.

· Conducts audits as needed (LPA’s, 6S, etc.)
· Complete own Training Demand Analysis annually.
· Complete required training identified in your TDA as necessary.
· Support root cause analysis as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
· Noise – Laboratory machines.
· Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
· Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
· Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.
· Responsible for complying with regulations and standards covered under MISOSHA as well as
· not damaging, moving, interfering or removed any safety related item that is provided.
Requirements
· Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
· Good communication skills and ability to talk with all levels of employees.
· Associates degree or equivalent work experience; at least 2 years of experience in previous
· supervisor role.
· Ability to manage people with respect to problem solving personnel issues.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
· Proficient in SAP.
