We are in search of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at AdvisaCare Home Health in the Lansing, Michigan region. As a COTA in home healthcare therapy, your primary role will be to work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes. Your duties may include:
Supporting the Occupational Therapist: You will work closely with the occupational therapist to help implement treatment plans and interventions that have been developed for each patient.
Providing therapy sessions: You will provide therapy sessions to patients in their homes, teaching them exercises and activities that will help them regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Monitoring progress: You will monitor patients' progress throughout their treatment and report back to the occupational therapist on any changes or concerns.
Communicating with patients and their families: You will communicate with patients and their families about their progress, treatment plans, and any concerns they may have.
Documenting patient progress: You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in their condition.
Ensuring safety: You will help ensure patients' safety by following proper infection control protocols, monitoring vital signs, and providing appropriate assistive devices.
Overall, your goal as a certified occupational therapy assistant in home healthcare therapy will be to support the occupational therapist in providing high-quality, personalized occupational therapy services in the comfort of patients' own homes. You will play a critical role in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of living.
Requirements
- Comply with all federal and state occupational therapy regulations
- Possess an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the State of Michigan
