ABA Tutor/Behavioral Technician
EnCourage Institute for Teaching and Learning is hiring full and part-time ABA tutors/behavioral technicians to provide high quality, evidence-based, one-on-one direct applied behavior analysis therapy for children ranging in age from 18 months to 19 years diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. EnCourage Institute provides a wide variety of intervention services for children including educational, developmental and behavioral therapy. Our autism services began in 2010 and include both developmental therapies (DIR/Floortime and the PLAY Project®) and ABA therapy. ABA sessions may occur in both the client’s home and at EnCourage’s clinic locations with some possible community outings as appropriate. Behavior Technicians will be supervised weekly by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging in regular communication and supervision meetings with the BCBA
- Implementing the therapy protocol developed by the BCBA
- Managing challenging behaviors
- Collaborating and communicating with parents
- Accurate and reliable data collection
- Accurate and timely completion of treatment notes
- Participation in ongoing training opportunities
- Engaging children or adolescents in activities that match their interests while implementing the therapy protocols in a safe and fun environment (therapy may be provided in the clinic, the family’s home or the child’s school).
Salary Range: This is a part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) position that may require evening hours. Pay is $16-20/hour depending on qualifications, RBT certification, and experience.

Requirements
Qualifications Include:
- A high school diploma/GED is required with college enrollment in an education or psychology related field recommended.
- A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a child-related field is preferred
- Experience interacting with and engaging children in home, school or camp situations
- Preference will be given to candidates who are RBT certified or who have had RBT training and are working on being certified (training will be provided otherwise)
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a background in child development
- Work experience in an autism intervention program is also preferred, but not required
- Applicants must have a reliable means of transportation, an acceptable driving record, and pass a criminal background check.
