M.S. Walker has an exciting new position available as a Strategic Account Manager for our National Accounts. The Strategic Account Manager will support the sales and merchandising activities by ensuring the brand and/or product visibility and execution in the assigned accounts. This is accomplished through regular account visits, creative display building, point of sale, brand development, position improvement, and increased exposure for brands. Pricing and display analysis to find areas of improvement and leading the execution of these changes will be the core of this position, accomplished by collaborating with Sales Representatives, Merchandising team, and account decision-makers to develop and strengthen relationships.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Work with Sales Representatives and accounts to maintain proper inventory levels to accomplish display and promotion activities.
- Create effecting Merchandising presentations to review with account buyers and lead the execution of these plans.
- Log and track pricing patterns and ad features, focusing on how these programs increase sales.
- Report to management regarding inventory levels, marketing and sales trends, and customer feedback.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales recaps and reports on local activities to Director of Sales.
- Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, trade shows, conventions, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
- Establish and maintain rapport with store managers.
- Enhance visibility on shelves, displays, cold box, and cross-merchandised opportunities within the stores.
- Maintain photographic records of displays, signage, and shelf sets.
- Ability to spend 90% of time in assigned market expanding business in top accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Self-motivated, team player, who is enthusiastic and a high achiever.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and iOS systems.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Customer Service oriented
- Ability to expand brand and product knowledge, as well as selling strategies.
- Strong understanding of consumer and brand marketing.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and be accountable for results.
- Ability to review and report ideas and progress in a clear and concise manner.
- High School Diploma and 5+ year industry-specific experience or college-educated and some industry-specific experience preferred.
- Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and registration.
- Ability to lift and move product of up to 45lbs.
- Knowledge of wine, merchandising standards, and retail operations.
