Role Summary:
This position manages the operational aspects related to the investment portfolio of CRICO, collaborating with department members and reports to the Chief Investment Officer. S/he also participates in planning and preparing for Committee meetings and other tasks and attends to requisite follow-up items.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
- Manage investment operations and recommend changes to policies and processes.
- Lead the operational due diligence efforts as it relates to new investments and monitor operational risks associated with existing investments.
- Oversee the process of ensuring portfolio obligations are settled accurately and promptly.
- Develop processes to manage and monitor portfolio exposures and counterparties.
- Ensure accuracy of periodic reporting and reconciliations of portfolio valuations and performance, as well as strategic benchmarks.
- Maintain and monitor relationships with service providers (custodian, performance reporting, investment managers, etc.).
- Assist in the facilitation of internal and external audit as it relates to portfolio investments.
- Maintain current AML/KYC documentation for CRICO and deliver accurate support materials to managers as needed.
- Coordinate manager onboarding including subscription documents, custodial platform, and other systems/reports. Ensure that appropriate reporting is delivered to the interested parties, internal and external.
- Manage liquidity to ensure sufficient funds exist to cover cash needs.
- Manage investment compliance.
- Collaborate with industry experts and peer groups in developing and implementing best practices in investment administration and operational risk management.
- Participates in planning and preparing for Committee and Board meetings.
- Collaborate with the Investment and Finance teams on all activities related to investment portfolio.
- Performs other related duties as required by position.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge, Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years’ experience in investment operations is preferred including dealing with private investments.
- Investment portfolio performance reporting experience required (experience with benchmarking a plus)
- Working knowledge of quantitative financial modelling techniques and statistics
- A practical understanding of legal and accounting issues with experience reviewing investment contracts would be a plus
- Advance proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other business software
