We have built a skilled team with a broad knowledge, deep expertise, and commitment to the highest level of Electrical, Solar, EV Charging, and Energy Efficiency contracting standards to tackle projects of varying size and complexity.

Commonwealth Electrical Technologies is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to thrive in a busy office and provide proactive and comprehensive support. Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, and they must be proactive in their approach to all work.

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the organization’s payroll and the human resources department in various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication and adaptability skills. The HR Manager needs to be flexible and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. To succeed in this role, you must be able to build rapport among the team and become a liaison between employees and their managers when needed. The HR Manager possesses a complete understanding of HR administration, including benefits, employee relations, recruiting, HRIS reporting, and leave management. The HR Manager is a strategic business partner who works closely with the leadership team and makes recommendations as necessary.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to organizational development.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of responsiveness.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and proper payroll deductions for benefit plans.
  • Educate employees on benefit plans through regular communication and counsel employees as questions arise.
  • Respond to employee concerns and requests, communicate concerns to applicable parties, and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Facilitate performance management to include performance review cycle, compensation planning, and performance improvement planning.
  • Administer all benefits plans.
  • Conduct employee investigations as needed and make recommendations to the President for resolution.
  • Lead payroll/hr admin in submitting hours worked for payroll processing on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process payroll weekly.
  • Oversee onboarding to include processing new hire paperwork and participating in orientation.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process by sourcing candidates and scheduling interviews.
  • Plan and coordinate company-sponsored events in order to promote employee engagement and support company culture.
  • Maintain personnel files to ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • Strong HR administrative background with basic payroll knowledge required.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment, integrity, and confidentiality when working with employees and management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Outlook email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Ability to become a true strategic business partner and understand the office environment and culture.
