Full Job Description

The Mental Health Association is hiring immediately for a Human Resources Generalist position. The HR Generalist is responsible for administering various HR plans and programs for all MHA, Inc. employees. The HR Generalist will work with all aspects of the HR functions regarding the laws and regulations governing FMLA/PFML, unemployment claims, conflict resolution, and overall employee relations.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains personnel files.
  • Coordinates onboarding necessities (i.e. fingerprint scheduling)
  • Remains current on local and state requirements related to employment regulations and law.
  • Works with management and employees to improve work relationships, builds morale and increases productivity and retention.
  • Attends administrative and staff meetings to communicate HR initiatives and addresses workforce issue.
  • Assists with unemployment responses and attends hearings when needed.
  • Maintains HRIS with employment changes and new hires

·         Assist HR Generalist, HR Director and Vice President with Open Enrollment.

 

Other Responsibilities

·         Carries out special assignments as requested by HR Director or other senior managers.

·         Assists with internal investigations & collecting statements

·         Participates in strategic department and agency planning.

·         Participates in administrative team meetings.

 

Job Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         Experience in the working in the Human Resource field preferred.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Digital literacy: Outlook, Applicant Tracking System, HRIS system, MS Word & Excel, online recruiting.
