Full Job Description

What You’ll Do

As a High School Math Teacher at Veritas Prep, you’ll inspire and guide students through their mathematical journeys, helping them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in college and beyond. You'll plan and deliver rigorous and engaging lessons in various mathematical subjects, ensuring all students meet high academic standards. Collaborating with colleagues and participating in grade-level teams, you will contribute to a supportive community where students thrive and feel empowered to take risks in their learning.

In this role, you will also:

  • Design a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners, incorporating a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, using data to guide instruction and intervention.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and engaged.
  • Partner with families through regular communication and involvement in their child’s academic life.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and collaboration with fellow educators.
  • Champion equity in education and be an advocate for all students, actively engaging in conversations about diversity, racism, and inclusion in your classroom.

Requirements

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

  • A solid belief that all students can achieve academically and personally.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Three to five years of teaching experience in secondary math or related field (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Subject-area expertise, including
    • passing score on the Communications and Literacy (Reading and Writing) MTEL.
    • passing score on the Mathematics (High School) MTEL or eligibility for a MA teaching license in Mathematics (High School).
  • SEI endorsement within one year of employment.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by the start of employment.

Benefits

Veritas Prep offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit packages that include the following:

  • Salary Range for this position is $50,000 - $90,000, exclusive of fringe benefits.
    • If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
    • In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
    • Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
