The Mental Health Association, Inc. (MHA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts and support the growth of our organization. MHA (Mental Health Association) helps people live their best life. We provide access to therapies for emotional health and wellness; services for substance use recovery, developmental disabilities and acquired brain injury; services for housing and residential programming, and more. With respect, integrity and compassion, MHA provides each individual served through person-driven programming to foster independence, community engagement, wellness and recovery. The Director of Development plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the Mental Health Association, Inc. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and programs of MHA

- Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations to secure financial support

- Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to engage donors and raise awareness

- Manage donor stewardship and recognition programs to cultivate long-term relationships and increase donor retention

- Collaborate with the Vice President of Development & Community Relations to set fundraising goals and monitor progress towards achieving them

- Oversee the development and implementation of grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations and government agencies

- Ability to travel locally to meet with prospective and established donors

- Lead and support a team of development staff to support fundraising efforts and achieve revenue targets

- Stay informed about best practices in fundraising and nonprofit management to ensure the success of MHA's development programs

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders

- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Experience supervising staff and volunteers in a nonprofit setting

- A commitment to promoting mental wellness in the community
