Job Summary:
The Chief Clinical Officer is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and administering clinical and social services. This includes ensuring patient care activities maintain the standards of patient care and advise medical staff in matters related to clinical services by performing the essential duties personally or through subordinate staff.
Essential Duties:
- Oversees the provision of clinical services, social services, occupational therapy and recreational therapy to patients requesting or requiring such services.
- Coordinates social services programs with other organizational programs in cooperation with the interdisciplinary teams involved.
- Responsible for setting the programming and schedules for patients in the facility.
- Serves as a resource and referral source for patients, physicians, staff and general community.
- Provides in-service training for social service staff and other employees as needed.
- Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
- Provides group and family process-oriented therapies as well as conducting educational and other didactic groups for patients and family members using various professional treatment modalities.
- Develops and coordinates an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing treatment team and written chart information to determine the patient's aftercare needs.
- Attends regular treatment team meetings to provide social work perspectives to total case management of the patient by discussing progress notes charts and communicating any state or local agency legal requirement for case management with the interdisciplinary team.
- Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and employee relations functions.
- Performs related duties, as requested.
- Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
- Attend and actively participate in assigned trainings; maintain all licensures and certifications.
Requirements
Education and/or Licensure:
- Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited social work or psychology program
- Independent clinical licensure in MA as a LICSW, LMHC or Psychologist
- Minimum 5-6 year's post-degree clinical experience, two of which were in a supervisory role
Qualifications:
- Licensed Clinician with inpatient psychiatric experience
- Experience in an inpatient/outpatient setting highly preferred
- Knowledge of acute psychological disorders
- Experience working in with a range of client population (Adult, Child and SNU)
- Ability to execute a variety of decision-making models
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere
