Full Job Description
As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for providing superior service to internal and external customers for accounts receivable/payable, adjustment processing, providing superior service to both internal and external vendors, applying accounting principles to daily activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the organization's financial goals.
Position Duties
- Timely and accurate preparation of all necessary journal entries as part of month-end close.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations (balance sheet and bank reconciliations)
- Prepare monthly financial reports and provide support in the analysis of results
- Process customer payments and adjustments accurately, timely and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately, timely and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Maintain vendor accounts, including obtaining documentation to follow company policies, resolving discrepancies, processing payment adjustments, and reconciling statements.
- Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.
- Provide support for Concur expense management software.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounts receivable data.
- Participate in the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, account reconciliations and other accounting tasks related to accounts receivable.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts receivable function. Maintain policies and procedures as processes change.
- Respond timely and accurately to and resolve requests from internal and external customers.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- 1-5 years or more of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting roles.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of GAAP and accounting operations; good technical skills including Excel and experience with ERP and other financial reporting systems.
