Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Project/Task Manager (Remediation Subject Matter Expert) in New Orleans, LA.

Navarro is seeking a skilled and experienced Project/Task Manager (Remediation Subject Matter Expert) to support environmental remediation services at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, Louisiana. This position will involve managing complex environmental remediation projects, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and delivering high-quality technical solutions in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement approved remediation work plans for soil and groundwater contamination using regulatory frameworks, with preference for Louisiana Risk Evaluation/Corrective Action Program (RECAP).
- Provide construction project oversight and support, maintaining project schedules, cost estimates, and administrative records.
- Manage and coordinate sampling activities, analytical reviews, and data summaries.
- Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with state and federal regulators, including Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and EPA Region 6.
- Participate in virtual and onsite meetings to present site data and remediation progress.
- Prepare work plans, interim summary reports, and final project reports.
- Ensure final reports achieve closure or approval from regulatory agencies.
- Maintain and update analytical databases, administrative records, and project schedules.
- Provide briefings to the Remediation Project Manager (RPM) and other stakeholders as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental remediation, with specific expertise in contaminated soil and groundwater projects.
- Demonstrated experience using Louisiana RECAP or other regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to coordinate with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Experience in preparing work plans, cost estimates, and final project reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and environmental data management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to regulators and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Louisiana Risk Evaluation/Corrective Action Program (RECAP).
- Final reports with closure/approval by state or federal regulatory agencies.
