Full Job Description
Summary: The bidding and cost estimator is required to develop cost structures and quotations for all inquiries from the customer, as well as developing bid proposals for current and new business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quotation Development
- Analyze scope of work being quoted to fully understand customer needs
- Identifies, coordinates, and completes team feasibility requirements for all new projects
- Generates quote model for the quotations, comprising of routing and bill of material
- Develop the quote to customer and prepares for staff review
- Maintains an organized tracking system
Customer Purchase Order Receipt / New Project communication
- - Develop an information transfer package that the quote was developed to and communicate to the organization via a quote review meeting.
- -Add Items, Bills and Routing to the ERP System
- -Validate customer purchase order against quote to confirm price and lead-time
Other Projects:
- Applies methodical approach to projects identifies by the management team to help with cost savings, material specifications, problem tools and other miscellaneous material related projects.
- Communicating with customer and providing conflict resolution
Any other tasks as directed by management
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience
- Janitorial Bidding/Estimating experience a plus
- Microsoft Office Products with heavy focus in Excel
- Knowledge of costing preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business correspondences, Safety Notices, Control Plans, Quality Alerts and Packaging Instructions. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exist.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
