Weekend Shift Lead (Hamar Automation)

The right candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, support, training, and supervision of employees within the department. The lead is responsible for executing the daily work plan, achieving company objectives including on time ship performance, providing a safe work environment for employees, ensuring the manufacturing of customer orders at the lowest possible cost, assisting in the development and implementation of procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained, and participating in process improvement initiatives.

The right candidate will be proficient in:

• Manual Machining Operations
• Machine Set-ups
• Drawing in Auto-Cad and Solidworks
• Utilizing spindle cutting tools
• Verifying product dimensions with precision measuring devices

Major responsibilities for this role are:

• Coordinating activities of workers in Parts Manufacturing and Fabrication.
• Overseeing Departmental Product testing and product inspection activities. 
• Overseeing the testing and inspection of test equipment and maintaining inventories. 
• Overseeing all equipment, facility, company vehicles and outdoor maintenance. 
• Monitor Department personnel. 
• Perform housekeeping duties. 
• Assist with training and employee Developmental plans. 
• Other duties assigned. 

This position requires working fixed days Friday-Sunday 5a-5p with the possibility of required overtime if necessary. 

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent or vocational technical school.
• 3 years of production exposure. Technical training and or work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but we'll train the right candidates too.
• This job requires the ability to work in a hot and humid, or cold environment due to seasonal changes on a constant basis.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Directly supervises employees.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
