Royal-Durham Supply is looking for a Regional Sales Manager. In this role, you will work in conjunction with the General Manager and Regional Vice President of Sales in developing and implementing a strategic business plan for increasing sales through new or additional business. Develop strong business relationships both externally and internally and provides leadership and vision to the Territory Sales Managers to achieve the company’s sales and profit objectives.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Lead, manages and develops Territory Sales Managers to achieve sales, market share and profit objectives.
- Assists Territory Sales Managers in developing programs to attain specific accounts. Ensures TSMs are properly and continually trained to perform their duties professionally.
- Interfaces with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Actively involved with obtaining, maintaining, and growing Corporate Accounts.
- Coordinates Regional meetings as needed to update customers/associates on new/changed products/ processes.
- Sells products and motivates TSMs to achieve market share objectives.
- Makes recommendations to Executive Management concerning new products, services and processes.
- Recommends/implements pricing that achieves company’s market share and profit objectives.
- Communicates between customer and management.
- Ensures that administrative issues are resolved regarding billing, shipping, etc.
- Identifies/Creates new sales opportunities.
- Approves pricing submitted by TSMs.
- Participates in new product development.
- Reports pertinent market information on a timely basis to management.
- Conducts quality Performance Appraisals on TSMs on a timely basis.
- Provides ongoing feedback and direction to TSMs.
- Actively participates in recruiting new or replacement TSMs.
- Approves TSM expense reports, vacation requests, weekly reports, travel, outside established guidelines.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- 5 years of related sales experience in the building products industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the building products and/or manufactured housing industry with established contacts within the Region.
- Demonstrated management experience similar to this role.
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
- Strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Excellent selling skills with strong negotiation skills with the ability to close a sale.
- Must be capable of training others on technical product knowledge.
