Full Job Description

As a Shift Lead at Las Vegas Petroleum, you will oversee the operation of the convenience store and ensure a seamless customer experience during your shift. This role involves leading the team, managing day-to-day activities, and upholding company standards for service and cleanliness. You will be responsible for training employees, handling inventory, managing cash transactions, and creating a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Management: Supervise staff, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and adhere to company protocols.
  2. Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to customers and resolve any issues that arise during shifts.
  3. Training: Onboard and train new team members in store procedures and customer service practices.
  4. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock management and implement necessary orders.
  5. Cash Handling: Ensure proper cash management, including cash register operations and daily reconciliations.
  6. Compliance: Enforce safety and health standards to maintain a secure shopping environment.
  7. Team Communication: Liaise between staff and upper management, ensuring operational needs are communicated effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail or customer service; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to solve problems and handle customer complaints effectively.
  • Proficiency with cash registers and basic computer systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of completing physical tasks, such as restocking shelves and organizing products.
