Our client is building a cutting-edge pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing facility in Central Indiana. This significant investment represents the company's largest manufacturing capacity expansion to date. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the leadership team responsible for the startup of this greenfield site, where you will play a key role in shaping the organization, facility, and culture for GMP manufacturing operations.

Position Overview:

The Utility Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing utility operations for their assigned area and shift, ensuring uninterrupted utility services to support facility needs. This role includes overseeing gray, clean, and plant utilities, as well as environmental control utilities (ECU) such as tank farm operations, air emissions systems, and solvent recovery systems. The Supervisor will manage a team of 5-10 operators, ensuring safe and compliant execution of utility operations in support of high-quality medicine manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Quality: Foster a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure utility operations support the production plan and maintain regulatory compliance. Engage actively on the floor to ensure consistent operations.
  • Team Leadership: Set objectives and development plans for operators, address employee relations issues, and build a cohesive team with a clear common purpose.
  • Training and Communication: Ensure operators are appropriately trained, maintain up-to-date operating procedures and training materials, and communicate site objectives effectively.
  • Resource Management: Ensure adequate staffing to meet business objectives and manage overtime as needed.
  • Project Support: During the startup phase (2025-2027), collaborate to build the organization, develop necessary systems and processes, and support project delivery to achieve operational excellence.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in science, engineering, or a technical field preferred.
  • Experience in facility/area startups and utility operations or pharmaceutical manufacturing support.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with strong skills in feedback and employee development.
  • Basic computer skills and solid understanding of FDA guidelines and cGMP requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • U.S. citizenship or green card holder (sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts with overtime as required.
