Full Job Description
The Transportation Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of all company vehicles, equipment, employees, and contractors. This includes supporting driver recruitment, hiring, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-hire: Initiate contact and coordinate all applicable testing, procure all required documentation, and build Driver Qualification file.
- Orientation: Assign start date, track unit number assignment, assign EFS fuel card, track applicable deductions and processing items for compliance.
- Recruiting: Attend company events, truck trade shows, and CDL schools as business needs dictate.
- Tracking & Training: Track and manage all LMS training assignments and follow up for completion. Track all Driver Qualifications and subsequent expirations. Coordinate all applicable testing, procure all required documentation, and update Driver Qualifications file accordingly.
- Reporting: Provide frontline contact and support to all applicable reporting.
- Support: Provide applicable support cross functionally to all departments as needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ year(s) of transportation, safety, or compliance experience.
- Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws with regards to FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA.
- Experience with ELD systems and on-board telematics.
Environment
- Office environment. On-site at facility – this is not a remote or hybrid position. • Physical Requirements require extended periods of sitting, working on a computer and standing for extended periods.
- • The candidate must be able to lift to 25 pounds, reach and stoop to file documents and be able to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- • The successful candidate must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and calculators.
Hours of Operation
- Normal weekday business hours. There is an on-call component that could require some evenings and weekends as business warrants.
