Full Job Description

As a Revenue Cycle Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of our revenue cycle operations for both the clinic and pharmacy operations. This position is responsible for optimizing financial performance by ensuring efficient and compliant claims processing, maximizing reimbursements, and minimizing denials.  This position audits and monitors billing and coding-related data, ensures procedural compliance with billing, coding and privacy regulations, proactively identifies billing and coding issues, and conducts provider training as needed.  This leadership role is critical in driving continuous improvement across the revenue cycle and collaborating with various departments to ensure a smooth patient financial experience.

The Revenue Cycle Manager should have strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. They should also be familiar with medical billing, Medicaid, and Medicare, and have knowledge of professional fee billing, reimbursement, and third-party payer regulation.

 

The Opportunity

  • Oversight: plans, directs and supervises coding and billing while complying with federal and state regulations
  • Collections: oversees collections and accounts receivables, and ensure financial systems are effective at collecting payments
  • Billing and coding: ensures procedures are accurate and up to date, and that patients and insurance providers are billed accurately
  • Denial management: ensures claims, denials, and appeals are processed efficiently, and resolve billing issues
  • Financial reporting: create reports, analyze data, and identify lost revenue
  • Process improvement: Analyzes revenue cycle data to identify areas for improvement, develop and implement corrective action plans to minimize losses, improve efficiency, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress. Conducts performance reviews and year-end evaluations of assigned staff.
  • Collaboration: interacts seamlessly with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of revenue cycle systems and processes.
  • Leadership:

o    Provides leadership to billing and coding staff to ensure timely, accurate and complete processing of daily tasks

o    Provides guidance, motivation and direction to staff members, including goal setting, mentoring and performance management

o    Orients and trains new staff and plans for the continuing education for current staff members

o    Conducts in-service training and continued education for clinical staff and providers related to billing and coding

  • Industry knowledge: stays current with changes in reimbursement regulations and stays abreast of industry trends and best practices in revenue cycle management, and implement innovative solutions to optimize performance.
  • Compliance:
    • Oversees coding reviews with physicians and non-physician practitioners
    • Conducts periodic medical record audits to ensure documentation is consistent with billing
    • Ensures adherence to all federal and state healthcare billing regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and payer-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, finance or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with coding and/or reimbursement activities and 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required
