Aspire Medical Staffing is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR/SDS RN) to join our team. As an OR RN at Aspire Medical Staffing, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to surgical patients.

LOCATION:

HOURS:

  • VA Business Hours: VA business hours/hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
  • Work Schedule: Shift tours and hours will vary depending on the unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • RNs assigned provides direct patient care, coordinates care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, and performs administrative functions that ensure continuity of care and appropriate access to care.
  • The nurse provides direct nursing care to veterans under the guidance and direction of the Nurse Manager or designee.
  • The nurse is expected to be able to circulate and scrub on a wide variety of procedures to include general surgery, GI, urology, gynecological, ophthalmology, podiatry, ENT, as well as laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures.
  • The nurse will consider all characteristics of the patient, including gender and gender role identification, age and life stage, state of health, race and culture, socio-economic status, values, and previous experience with similar events, to assist the team to identify and best meet the needs of each surgical patient.
  • The nurse is also expected to work in OR, PACU and/or the different surgical related clinics.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Licensure: A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
  • Certification: Current certification in BLS & ACLS by an American Health Association Vendor.
  • Experience: All OR RNs shall possess a minimum of three years of experience, and the most recent two years of experience shall have been in the OR. All OR RNs shall possess surgical RN experience and competency in at least two of the following areas: orthopedics, neurology, general surgery, peri- vascular, plastics, ophthalmology, urology, ENT and cardiac/thoracic.
  • Must be a US Citizen
