Full Job Description
The Logistician III (LGT3) will serve as a critical team member at NSWC Crane, providing leadership in logistics and ensuring the effective integration of logistics processes within operational, acquisition, and wholesale environments. This role is responsible for leading a team through inventory, shipping/receiving, milestone management, and defining logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage logistics teams, ensuring the smooth execution of inventory control, shipping/receiving operations, and milestone management.
- Define, develop, and maintain processes and procedures to be used by the logistics team to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with DoD logistics regulations and policies, with experience handling key DoD forms such as 1149s, 1348s, and more.
- Utilize inventory tracking systems to manage, monitor, and reconcile logistics data.
- Provide oversight and direction on logistics integration and ensure processes align with project and organizational goals.
- Prepare and implement logistics directives to guarantee that logistics support is timely, effective, and compliant with established standards.
- Establish and enforce standards to ensure the logistics workforce is properly trained and equipped to perform their duties efficiently.
- Develop, initiate, and manage logistics actions associated with the life cycle management of weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless logistics support throughout the acquisition and operational processes.
- Experience with Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) is preferred.
Requirements
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading logistics teams in areas such as inventory control, shipping/receiving, and milestone management.
- Experience in defining and maintaining logistics processes for an organization.
- Expertise in handling DoD forms such as 1149s, 1348s, and other essential documentation for logistics operations.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and logistical software solutions.
- Experience with Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) is highly preferred.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading logistics teams through complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics integration within operational, acquisition, and wholesale environments.
- Ability to develop and enforce logistics processes, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple logistics actions simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a key role within the NSWC Crane logistics team, where the Logistician III will play a pivotal part in ensuring effective logistics support throughout the lifecycle of critical defense systems.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
