Full Job Description
Join our team at Lensing Building Specialties as a Lead Overhead Door Tech. As a wholesale distributor of building products, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch inventory and exceptional customer service. As a Lead Overhead Door Technician, you will work as part of our team installing and servicing all types of overhead door mechanics and systems -including sectional, rolling steel, high speed, service and sliding doors, gate opening systems, operable partitions and dock leveling systems. You'll work out of our Evansville location, where we have over 300,000 square feet of space for our shop operations, warehousing, and offices.
Product specific training will be provided to teach new technicians specific techniques and procedures related to our product lines.
An ideal candidate must be able to work in all types of work environments and weather conditions. We are in search of candidates that are willing to work 40 + hours a week to serve our growing customer base. You must have a positive attitude and represent the company while at customer job sites. You will be required to work overtime, some weekends, and at different job sites. As the primary point of contact for the company to the customer, punctuality, reliability, and professional demeanor is a must.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to complete required training to gain access at local manufacturing sites.
Current or ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification.
Current or ability to obtain Association of Reciprocal Safety Council (ARSC) certification.
Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in the following:
- Commercial overhead door installation/service, or relevant work experience
- Training and leading other colleagues in job processes and procedures
- ARC/MIG welding
- Metal fabrication
- Hoist and slings
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the following:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of PLC functions (ladder logic/programming)
- Understanding of relay logic circuit and 3 phase 480 volts
- Analytical and trouble-shooting skills of mechanical and electrical components
- Job site organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ensuring job site safety (both to company policy and customer requirements)
- Use of scissor lifts, high lifts, fork trucks, and/or any other type of heavy equipment
Driving Requirements:
Must be insurable by company’s insurance program to utilize company vehicles.
Valid driver’s license with strong driving record
Must possess or obtain “For Hire” endorsement.
Must pass DOT physical and drug assessment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift bulky/heavy materials overhead.
Ability to work at heights.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions (hot, cold, snow, rain)
Compensation negotiable based on skills and related work experience.
