Full Job Description
As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for initiating and maintaining infusion lines, administering medication, fluid therapy, monitor and evaluate the patient's response to the IV therapy and educating patients and families. The Infusion Nurse will provide and coordinate infusion activities and assure competentand compassionatepatient care. Provides direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and clinic standards. The Infusion Nurse will also promote collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and members of the care delivery team.
The Opportunity
- Perform initial and continuous patient assessment
- Obtain peripheral IV and/or CVAC access/de-access per protocol
- Administer medications through IV and monitor patient throughout the infusion, accurately documents all nursing care in EMR
- Monitor the patient for adverse reactions
- Perform therapeutic phlebotomies
- Perform venipunctures
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
- Utilize knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control and safety precautions; initiate appropriate interventions in crisis situations
- Provide for the comfort, safety, privacy and confidentiality of patients
- Maintain cordial, accommodating and welcoming presence with patients at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of related experience .
- Graduation from an approved RN program
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance is required.
