Primary Function

Under general direction of the Fabrication Shop Foreman, is responsible for the successful operation of the weld shop which includes the day-to-day business activities:

• Keep informed of Company Top Priorities as well as current business conditions.
• Strong focus on fabrication to ensure continuous improvement in efficiencies, productivity, etc.
• Maintains a strong focus on safety by insuring effective and continuing adherence to training.
• Achieve promised performance goals to external and internal customers.
• Responsible for developing the maximum capability of their self by adhering to training, coaching, and counseling, as well as working efficiently and effectively with high standards of quality.
• Be a personal example to all employees of quality workmanship and professionalism.
• Take part in programs that result in the reduction of costs, improved efficiencies and increase of profits.
• Reading and reviewing available documents to fabricate materials correctly.
• Perform special assignments as required.

Requirements

General Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of fabrication and related tools.
• Basic knowledge of MIG welding for light gauge material.
• Able to do basic math using both fractions and decimals.
• Read, write, speak and comprehend acceptable business English.
• Must be willing to cross-train to provide services to other internal departments.
• Proven track record as an employee and effective communicator.
• Must be results oriented with a high level of work intensity and a bias for action.
• Has demonstrated an appreciation for high quality, professionalism, and timeliness.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure scheduled deadlines are met.
• Must have high expectations for personal performance.

• Fabrication of Hollow Metal Products
• Maintaining Safety – by keeping a clean work space
• Prioritizing Quality of finished products while completing Shop Orders in a timely manner
• Continual personal training and education of products and methods
