Electrical Engineering Technician

 Position Summary

• This position will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems as required to meet production goals.  Document work and results as required and advise management of vehicle condition.  This position is based on the assembly floor, working with the Assembly Teams assisting and building vehicles specifically training, installing, testing and proving out electrical hardware, cabling, technology and communications equipment.  Function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and maintain control of situations as they arise.

What You Will DO:

·         Read and interpret electrical symbols, schematics, wiring and cable diagrams

·         Uses trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to resolve electrical issues

·         Communicates with stakeholders to refine customer requirements

·         Assist in wiring and troubleshooting prototype and first article product releases

·         When needed, creates and maintains and modifies electrical CAD drawings in Zuken and / or Solid Works Electrical

·         Assists in the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for the electrical elements of the vehicle build

·         Investigates and implements cost reductions

·         Creates product assembly and configuration documentation

·         Trains manufacturing personnel in electrical assembly

·         Creates and reviews engineering change notifications

·         Assists with vehicle builds on the assembly floor

·         Notes electrical issues concerning builds, drawings, components etc. and reports details back to Electrical Engineering.

·         Works within the Team to understand new technology and apply it to our vehicles.

·         Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Experience:

·         2-year Associates degree – EE preferred

·         Two years practical electrical technology experience

·         Experience working in a manufacturing environment

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word and Excel

·         AutoCAD, Solid Works, Solid Works Electrical and Zuken

·         Other software/programming training will be given as the needs arise.

·         Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communications skills.

·         Previous experience with 5S and lean manufacturing would be considered an asset.

·         Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be able to push and pull wires.  Required to stand, walk, and/or sit. Use hands, arms, and fingers to feel objects.
