We are looking for a dynamic Claims & Risk Specialist to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with multiple facets of the company, contributing to a culture of safety, efficiency, and exceptional service. As the Claims & Risk Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing risk and insurance claims while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations. You will report directly to the Director of Claims and Risk Management and will have opportunities to travel occasionally (less than 10%).
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Commercial General Liability, Workers' Compensation, 1st Party Claims, 3rd Party Claims, Litigation, Cargo, and Pollution claims.
- Support Risk Management initiatives to minimize company liability.
- Assist Owner-Operators with insurance coverages.
- Collaborate with teams to participate in Root Cause Analysis and recommend actionable improvements.
- Attend and contribute to quarterly safety meetings on-site.
- Generate and analyze monthly reports related to claims and risks.
- Interpret and understand complex insurance policies and agreements.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure compliance with all claims processes.
- Learn and utilize a variety of company-specific programs and tools.
- Proactively manage time and tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in the commercial trucking industry with insurance knowledge.
- Familiarity with claims management processes and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to travel on short notice when needed.
