Full Job Description
Our partner seeks a Sr. Accountant in Oak Brook, IL. The position involves significant autonomy in performing corporate closing processes and tasks, company-wide consolidation, and ensuring accuracy in balances. The role also includes analysis of cash flow and consolidated results, creation of journal entries, and collaboration with various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform corporate closing processes and tasks with a focus on accuracy and reconciliation.
- Execute company-wide consolidation, reconcile balances, and manage intercompany transactions.
- Analyze cash flow and consolidated results, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Create and enter journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Lead bonus processes in partnership with Finance and HR for accurate accruals and reporting.
- Administer global ASC 842 Lease workflow and journal entries.
- Lead subsidiary accounting teams in compliance with reconciliation guidelines.
- Participate in monthly trial balance reviews and prepare reconciliations.
- Maintain and update accounts and internal orders in SAP.
- Prepare annual reporting packages and support financial statement audits.
- Provide SAP support and participate in testing new functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Effective communication skills with both finance and non-finance personnel.
- Understanding of US GAAP.
- Knowledge of large-scale ERP platforms.
- Proficiency in creating presentations and communications.
- Ability to execute tactical plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong multitasking skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (<5%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA (Licensed or Registered).
- Experience in Public Accounting.
- Familiarity with SAP ECC or other large-scale ERP platforms.
- Experience with Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC).
- Understanding of SOX compliance.
