• Lead a team of control engineers, overseeing all aspects of control systems and automation projects. Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure the team meets and exceeds project goals.
• Take charge of complex automation projects from inception through completion, managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. Collaborate with senior management to align projects with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies for the integration and optimization of control systems across multiple production lines, ensuring they align with the company’s long-term goals.
• Work closely with other department leaders, including production, maintenance, and quality, to ensure cohesive operations and to drive continuous improvements in automation and control systems.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing control systems, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal operational disruption.
• Identify and drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control systems, with a focus on reducing downtime, improving reliability, and increasing production capacity.
• Provide high-level technical support and direction to the engineering team, troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring that all systems operate at peak efficiency.
• Ensure that all control systems and automation processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining thorough documentation and records.

Requirements

What You’ll Need:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within controls engineering or automation, with a proven track record of leading successful teams.
• Advanced knowledge in PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, and control system integration, with deep experience in Allen Bradley systems, robotics, and ladder logic.
• Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies for control systems that align with business objectives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across various teams and levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead the team through complex technical challenges.
• Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 40%, to oversee and support projects at different company locations.
