Position is a Chicagoland-based flexible/hybrid arrangement (in-office 1-2 days per week).

Overview
Join our team as an Accounts Payable Coordinator and add value by performing a variety of A/P tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Areas of accountability include: data entry into the accounts payable system; invoice verification; check processing; and maintaining filing. Your strong communication skills will enhance our collaborative environment, ensuring smooth interactions with all staff, vendors, and member organizations.
Examples of Activities
a) Verifies proper authorization, documents, and authenticity of invoices
b) Once verified, inputs invoices into electronic approval system and accounts payable system, reviews input and corrects as necessary
c) Posts accounts payable transactions
d) Selects invoices for check preparation based on due dates, process and print checks, post cash transactions
e) Select invoices for electronic payment based on due dates, process and post cash transactions
f) Provide reports for Invoice Entry, Cash Requirements, Check Register; distribute and file as required
g) Prepares checks for signature, match checks with documentation, distribute checks, file vouchers
h) Respond to staff and vendors regarding status of invoice payments
i) Process items through both a manual or fully electronic process
j) Accounts Receivable - check deposits through Remote deposit.
k) Accounts Receivable - posting of customer payments by recording checks and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience. Five plus years of work experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Associate degree a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume of transactions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities. Knowledge of accounting principles, expense invoice payment process, customer billing and account reconciliation skills. Self-starter, well organized, detailed oriented with high degree of transactional accuracy, excellent communication skills and comfort with the utilization of automated systems. Adapts well to changing environments and processes. Experience with Accounting software, Microsoft Office, and intermediate Excel skills required. Concur and Intacct experience preferred but not required.
