Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will provide a pivotal role,  meticulously preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring clarity on assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax responsibilities. Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties
• Maintain the general ledger
• Analyze budgets and create expense reports
• Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
• Code invoices, prepare journal entries, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist closing the monthly books
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software
• Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits
• Manage the purchasing and invoicing system
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Consult GAAP to ensure compliance
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field and 3+ years of related experience or 10+ years of related experience
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
