Full Job Description
At Kids Point Learning Center, Assistant Teachers play a crucial role in our success by supporting Lead Teacher(s) and our classrooms in various ways. They supervise children and contribute to the creation of a caring and safe environment in the assigned classroom(s). The Assistant Teacher is also responsible for implementing curriculum, lesson plans, and activities to enhance the overall care and development of the children. Positions are available in specific classes or as a floating assistant, providing help wherever needed throughout the center.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous childcare experience is preferred.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and be able to see, hear, and respond to children’s needs. This includes reaching high, stooping to the child’s level, sitting on the floor, rising from the floor, and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to handle the demands that contact with many children and parents brings every day, in a positive way.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate the progress and needs of children with the teacher, parents, and other staff as needed.
- Must complete Staff Orientation and Additional Training within two months.
- Required to maintain necessary units, certifications, etc., as specified by Licensing.
- Should demonstrate a thorough understanding of all current state and local childcare regulations.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
