Full Job Description
The Lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and pool visitors by actively monitoring the pool area, enforcing safety rules, and responding quickly to emergencies. This role includes promoting water safety, enforcing park rules, and providing excellent customer service. Lifeguards are expected to have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor pool areas, water attractions, and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all residents and guests.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, including water rescues, first aid incidents, or any other safety concerns.
- Enforce all safety rules and regulations in a firm but courteous manner to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Perform opening tasks such as leaf blowing and seeping the pool deck and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness. Inspect and clean restrooms to ensure they are stocked and ready for use.
- Perform closing duties such as cleaning the restrooms at the end of each shift to ensure they are ready for use the next day. Take out trash and recyclables from pool areas and surrounding park spaces ensuring a neat and tidy facility.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, interacting with residents, guests, and staff respectfully and courteously.
Requirements
Position Requirements
- Nocatee Lifeguards are required to attain a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. The Red Cross requires that participants are 15 years old or will be by the time class ends.
- An existing Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is accepted but must be able to pass our assessment (Lifeguard skills and CPR)
- Classes are hosted January, February, April, May, and June.
- Passing the class does not guarantee employment in Nocatee.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and under direct sunlight.
- Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Job Type: Part-Time, Monday through Sunday
Work Location: On-Site
Schedule: Varies to include weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
