As a Facilities Specialist, you will be responsible for all day-to-day facility related operations and maintenance including preventative and corrective maintenance tasks to building and/or process equipment, metrology activities, and facilities planning under the direction of Associated Director of Facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and upkeep of all building support systems, including, but not limited to GMP and non-GMP facilities for WFI water, building HVAC, boilers, generators, house air and vacuum systems, electrical supply, etc.
- Perform or assist in performance of preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment and related support equipment.
- Perform laboratory metrology and compliance activities with support from Quality assurance in accordance with Ascend’s quality system.
- Document and store equipment records for calibration and preventive maintenance activities in the electronic software system.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of facility and laboratory equipment.
- Assist with the physical and administrative tasks involved with shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Assist with GMP manufacturing support operations as needed.
- Responsible for day-to-day coordination of laboratory logistics, inventory and upkeep.
- Provide support to on-site vendors during routine and repair services.
- Collect and autoclave biohazardous waste from PD/QC/GMP areas.
- Provide routine glass washing and autoclaving of reusable supplies.
- Knowledge of GMP SOPs, forms, and logbooks
- Knowledge of QMS and maintaining compliance
- Knowledge of CMMS and maintaining electronic records within this system
- Knowledge of processes, procedures, and methods used in facilities operations.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, OSHA policies, and EPA standards.
- Knowledge of BMS (Building Monitoring System), Environmental Monitoring System (REES).
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
What you’ll bring:
- High School Diploma
- Facilities Specialist I: four (4) years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience; Associates degree and two (2) years of experience or bachelor’s degree.
- Facilities Specialist II: six (6) years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience; Associates degree and four (4) years or bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Facilities Specialist III: nine (9) years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience; Associates degree and seven (7) years or bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Should possess good general laboratory skills and GDP (good documentation practices)
- Excellent planning, documentation, organization and scheduling abilities
- Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.
- A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate test equipment (digital thermometers, Gas analyzers, digital multimeters)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a great attention to detail.
