Role overview:
The Business Development (BD) Director will spearhead the search for new customers and partners across North American Region, focusing on global money movement. As a sole contributor, the individual must be target-driven with a strong passion and commitment to achieving results. This role requires a hands-on approach, involving deep engagement in execution and leading from the front.
Requirements
How you will create impact:
- Expand TerraPay's Global Footprint:
Identify and launch new countries and Send Partners within TerraPay's network in the North America region.
Foster strong relationships with strategic partners in target countries.
Develop a pipeline of outbound opportunities in the North America region to position it as a Send Region.
- Drive Product Excellence:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure TerraPay offers the most competitive products in each market.
Negotiate optimal terms with partners in North American Region.
Continuously identify opportunities to enhance existing product offerings.
Stay abreast of market trends and disruptions to identify potential product innovations. - Optimize FX Operations:
Understand local foreign exchange dynamics.
Develop a network for efficient FX sourcing. - Partner Management and Performance:
Hold Send partners accountable for their performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with partners.
Work closely with receive markets to deliver targeted volumes. - Customer-Centric Approach
Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences.
Incorporate customer feedback into product development and channel expansion.
Essential qualifications:
- 15+ years in the Payments, Fintech, or Financial Services realm, with hands-on experience in B2B sales, especially if you’ve sold into Money Remittance, PSPs, or financial services. Bonus points if you’ve worked with platforms!
- CRM Savvy: You’re a CRM whiz. If it’s not in your toolkit, it should be!
- Flexibility & Ownership: You’re adaptable, self-motivated, and take full ownership of your tasks.
- Team Spirit: You thrive in a team environment and are open to change but can also handle working independently.
- Customer & Market Centric: You’ve got a strong grasp of customer needs, market dynamics, and industry requirements.
- Relationship Builder: You excel at creating and maintaining effective relationships with clients, partners, third parties, and colleagues.
- Detail-Oriented: Your attention to detail is impeccable, nothing gets past you!
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, because communication is key.
