Title: Young Adult Program Associate (Temporary)

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt 

Salary Grade: Grade B 

Job Location: Hybrid/In-person/Remote 

Reports to: Young Adult Program Director 

End Date: Until April 30th, 2025

Position Summary: 

The Young Adult Program Associate supports the growth and retention of our Young Adult Network by running our Delegation Leaders Program and leading our recruitment work (2-3 trips to various states). The Delegation Leader Program works with up to 25 young adults that organize hundreds of people for the Spring Lobby Weekend conference. The Associate also strengthens our Young Adult Program work by collaborating and connecting with FCNL’s other grassroots programs.   

Essential Position Duties

  • Organizes and leads recruitment for all our Young Adult Programs   
  • Manages and supervises the Delegation Leaders Program, including the structure and goals of the program and its performance and communications.  
  • Implements the communication strategy and manages the outreach to young adults around the country via university or community contacts  
  • Writes emails, blog posts, and other forms of communication to our Young Adult Network  
  • Follows up on outreach to build and maintain relationships within the Young Adult Program     
  • Supports the Spring Lobby Weekend conference by acting as a point of contact with key stakeholders and providing administrative support as needed  
  • Organizes and supports follow-up actions after our annual event, Spring Lobby Weekend  
  • Provides administrative support to the Advocacy Corps Program as needed  
  • Supports the planning of the Washington Summer Intensive  
  • Organize the outreach and travel logistics of YAP alumni to Annual Meeting in November  

 

Minimum Required Job Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Skills and Experience 

  • At least two years of organizing, advocacy, and/or direct service work (both professional and/or volunteer)  
  • Ability to travel as needed for program events and outreach activities

  • Openness to working in Quaker spaces  
  • Highly motivated and proven ability to manage numerous tasks and deadlines and ability to work in fast-paced dynamic environments.

Preferred Job Qualifications 

Skills and Experience 

  • Experience working in young adult engagement. 
  • Experience with building and maintaining relationships with diverse groups, including young adults, universities, or community contacts. 
  • Experience in supporting events. 
  • Experience in implementing communication strategies and managing outreach efforts. 
  • Strong networking and collaboration skills, with experience in connecting and collaborating with grassroots programs. 
  • Familiarity with the process and procedures of Congress.   
  • Acute attention to detail.  

 

Physical Demands & Work environment 

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods;   
  • This job requires occasional travel, including overnight travel within the U.S. between 5-10% of the time.   

  

Compensation & Work Expectations 

  • The salary range for this position is $53,000 - $58,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate and placement within the paygrade will be dependent on the candidate’s specific background and qualifications and equilibrium with our internal equity. FCNL is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of the DMV.      
  • Work Week: This is a temporary, full-time non-exempt position, based on a 37.5-hour work week. This person can be remote, in-person, or hybrid, but they will be required to attend in-person conferences and retreats, approximately every 1-2 months. FCNL covers travel and lodging costs for these trips. Annually this individual will need to be available for in-person support at Annual Meeting/QPPI conference during November 13-17,2024 and Spring Lobby Weekend conference in March 2025.
