This position is based out of our Washington DC office
Avoq is seeking a full-time writer and multimedia storyteller to support develop thoughtful and compelling written and video content for a diverse range of clients within our Content team. The ideal candidate will come to us with a strategic mind and an insatiable curiosity to learn about new subjects.
The role involves turning rich topic areas into actionable, precise and polished content. This person will have opportunities to explore complex news-of-the-day topics that inform and shape the policy world. The new member of our team will receive guidance and mentorship from our team of former journalists. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Content.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Have a reporter’s knack for asking great questions, an editor’s skill at discerning what matters, a researcher’s capacity to find hidden nuggets and marketer’s ability to know what will cut through the noise.
- You can take a lecture or panel and quickly turn it into a one-minute video and an engaging complementary article
- An inquisitive mind with an insatiable curiosity to learn about new subjects.
- Can synthesize pages of research and multiple interviews into a single, tight document.
- Capable of telling a story or advancing a message through multimedia storytelling.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Helping to develop and drive communications strategy for clients.
- Conceptualizing, writing, producing and editing original content for clients.
- Crafting editorial calendars and managing client content projects.
Requirements
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- Entry level to 1 year experience
- Experience writing, producing and editing
- Strong writing, reporting, and editing skills
- Ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines
- Communicates effectively with clients and co-workers
- Manages working relationships diplomatically and collaboratively

The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $58,000
