We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Technical Writer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Technical Writer will help support the Program Manager and Team on a dynamic and exciting cybersecurity program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Duties
As a Technical Writer supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to support the Program in various Programmatic and Technical Writing activities. In this role, a typical day will include:
Documentation Creation and Management:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product use case or implementation to draft documentation, including use cases, implementation plans, training documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), white papers, and other ad hoc requests.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Maintain version control and organization of all documents within the approved repository.
Specific Task Support:
- Develop and write documentation for cybersecurity execution management services, vulnerability scanning services, cybersecurity analytics, and technical services.
- Create and manage documents such as the Cloud Incident Response Plan (IRP) Preparedness/Tabletop Exercise Plan, Cloud Adversarial Emulation Testing/Assessment Report, Cloud Toolset Configuration Review Report, Cloud Security Posture Review Report, and Risk Register Prioritized List.
- Accurately record system requirements as defined by system owners and stakeholders.
Review and Analysis:
- Review and provide modifications as required to existing Communication Plans, Concept of Operation documents, and Process Asset Library Maps.
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities while providing and implementing recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical writing
- Proven ability to produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and other team members to gather information and translate it into clear, concise documentation
- Familiarity with version control systems and practices
- Experience writing use cases or implementation plans
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation, particularly in cybersecurity or IT environments
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation, paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including SharePoint and Teams
- Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative team-based environment
