We are looking for a dynamic Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team! The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting VA Quality Compliance by ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance in all processes and products. This individual will lead efforts to develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance methodologies and systems to effectively test and improve operational testing and evaluation processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in quality assurance, a keen understanding of testing methodologies, and the ability to play a role on a team focused on achieving exceptional quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) program that aligns with VA’s objectives and requirements.
Identify trends, issues, and recommend corrective actions or improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Standards and Compliance:
Ensure all testing and evaluation activities comply with relevant federal regulations, standards (such as ISO, CMMI), and VA-specific requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements, adapting QA strategies as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and identify opportunities for improving QA processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and quality outcomes.
Implement best practices in quality assurance and process improvement, facilitating a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
- Program Manager Support:
Provide administrative and programmatic support for the Quality Assurance Team Program Manager.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
Serve as a primary point of contact for all matters related to quality assurance related to the VA client, effectively communicating with stakeholders, including project teams, management, and external partners.
Prepare and present detailed reports on QA activities, findings, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Risk Management:
Identify potential quality risks in projects and processes, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to prevent issues and ensure the integrity of VA outcomes.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for quality assurance policies, procedures, and activities, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the team and across the organization, contributing to the overall quality culture.
Work collaboratively with team members across different projects to ensure cohesive efforts and outcomes.

- Meeting Support:
Participate in both scheduled and impromptu meetings relevant to the project or program.
Document and distribute minutes from client meetings that capture key decisions, actions, and discussions.
Design and prepare presentation decks for meetings and briefings.
- Internal Quality Review of all Deliverables:
Conduct thorough reviews of products and deliverables intended for the VA client team to ensure they meet quality standards before client submission.
Ensure that project deliverables are completed within the agreed scope and adhere to predefined schedules.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or higher
- Minimum five years of experience in government contracting, auditing, or government evaluation
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 products (SharePoint, Power Apps, MS Forms, Power BI, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Asana to build project plans, coordinate tasks, and ensure effective completion of tasks to expected deadlines
- Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Clearance
- Able to work independently
- Able to deliver error-free work
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- 5+ years of experience with BS/BA
- 3+ years of experience with MA/MBA/MS
- 1+ year of experience with PhD

- Expertise in Quality Assurance Methodologies: Deep understanding of various QA frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure all activities meet the highest quality standards. This includes the ability to develop strategic QA plans that align with the client’s objectives and enhance overall quality and efficiency.
- Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills are required to work effectively within a team and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. Quality Assurance Specialists should be able to work collaboratively, listen actively, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements relevant to VA, including federal regulations and requirements.
- Critical Thinking: Analysts must think critically and evaluate processes, systems, and information objectively. They must be able to assess situations from multiple perspectives to support informed decision-making and quality improvements.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and technologies within the dynamic environment of VA projects. Must be open to change and able to adjust strategies or approaches in response to new information or challenges.
- Analytical Skills: Analysts must be able to analyze data, interpret results, and make data-driven recommendations. They must also be adept at identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement within complex data sets to inform quality improvements and operational decisions.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with testing and evaluation methodologies, quality assurance practices, dashboard design and maintenance, and relevant software tools (e.g., data analysis software, project management software) is essential. Understanding the technical aspects of the systems or programs under evaluation can also be beneficial.
- Attention to Detail: Quality assurance demands a high level of attention to detail. Quality Assurance Specialists must be able to meticulously review data, documents, and processes to identify errors, inconsistencies, or deviations from established standards.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication, both written and verbal, is necessary for articulating findings, making recommendations, and collaborating with team members, stakeholders, and clients. This includes the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and meeting summaries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to articulate findings, recommendations, and suggestions for program improvements.
Problem-solving skills: Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions. This includes developing creative solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
Risk Management: Skills in identifying potential risks to quality and compliance. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in quality assurance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with or knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards to ensure that testing processes and outcomes meet specified requirements.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies relevant to VA programs.

The annual salary range for this role is $76,000 - $95,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline.
